Who we are
We are dedicated to providing a place where individuals can explore their artistic passions in a supportive and inclusive environment. Our commitment is to make art accessible to everyone, nurturing talent and fostering a sense of belonging and community.
Open studio times are available for people to explore different mediums, techniques, and new ideas.
There are 3 different studio time options. The first is a 4-hour or less session for $15. The next option is to spend the day with us, at $25. The final option is a monthly membership at $60. This membership gives access to any open studio time during the month of your membership. Open studio gives you time to explore with the supplies we have in-house, such as watercolors, acrylics, pens, pencils, papers, and so much more. If you are interested in a monthly membership, please visit the membership tab.
We are eager to try new ideas here. We hope you will join us. If there is an art or avenue we are not giving, please let us know. If feasible, we will include it in the program.
ABOUT ME
Welcome to my little corner of the art world! My name is Samala, but you can call me Sam. I am proud to be the owner of the Inky Blues Community Art Center. My husband, Peter, and I have been happily married for nearly 30 years, and together, we have raised two incredible sons who have grown into wonderful men. Our journey as a family has been rich and fulfilling, filled with countless memories and experiences. As my life transitions into this exciting new chapter, I find myself more devoted than ever to my passion for art.
My journey into the world of art has taken a unique and often unconventional path. I've never sought formal training because my art is driven by my curiosity. I'm continually asking myself, “How?" How can I capture that intricate texture? How can I blend those vibrant colors in a way that evokes emotion? How can I bring this vision to life? This desire to explore new techniques, experiment with different mediums, and push the boundaries of my creative abilities is what my art is really about.
While I may not have been suited for the structured environment of art school, my attention span thrives on the exhilarating prospect of new projects. The excitement of something fresh and watching an idea take shape under my hands—that's what truly captivates me.
At the Inky Blues Community Art Center, my goal is to create an inviting and inspiring environment where everyone feels welcome to explore their artistic inclinations. I hope you discover something here that ignites your own curiosity and brings joy to your day. I invite you to come and spend some time with us—dive into your creative mind, experiment with different materials, and let your imagination soar. Whether you're an experienced artist or just starting out, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in our vibrant community!
